Drake Boys NCS Volleyball Champs

 The Drake Boys' Volleyball Team is North Coast Section Champion. They earned the title by defeating #1 seed Campolino in Moraga Saturday night. They came out strong and dominated games one and two. Campo came out a played a strong game three, and won. Drake was determined not to let it come down to a decisive game five. With the score tied 11-11 Drake got hot and won a pressure packed game four.

The championship was the fifth for the Drake team, it's first since 2006. The scoring was set up by a beautifully set game from Zach Holyman who had an incredible 40 assists. Many of those assists were turned into laser like hits from Robert Grant , Cooper Scarbrough and Julian Ruzzier Gaul. The three big hitters combined for 44 kills. Matt Roache and Joe James dominated the middle on defense, while John Herrero and Josh Birnbaum dug up shot after shot,
